GreatLynx Dispatch – Summer 2025 Email Campaign (Mock)

A branded newsletter prototype build with canva and mailchimp

As part of my branding work for GreatLynxDesigns, I created a fully customized mock email newsletter using Canva for visuals and Mailchimp for layout and delivery simulation. This project showcases how I combine storytelling, design, and technical marketing skill to produce client-ready assets — even when the audience is still hypothetical.

🎯 Project Goals

  • Create a visually branded newsletter that reflects the GreatLynxDesigns identity
  • Simulate campaign creation and delivery using Mailchimp
  • Incorporate real client work (ColorBliss) and strategic content sections
  • Practice segmentation and A/B testing setup with mock data

I designed a custom header and branded elements in Canva, drawing from the visual identity I’ve built for my freelance business, GreatLynxDesigns. This included custom CTA buttons, typography, and iconography. I also featured visuals from a real client project (ColorBliss) to ground the newsletter in recognizable work.

The layout includes a short intro, a feature highlight of the ColorBliss project, a concise UX/web tip, and a strong CTA. Each section was purposefully structured to guide the reader’s attention and provide value. I ensured everything was mobile-responsive and styled for clarity.

While I didn’t send this newsletter to a live list, I simulated the process of A/B testing by preparing two subject line variants and preview text options. I also set up mock list segments (e.g., clients, leads, subscribers) to explore Mailchimp’s targeting features.

This mock campaign was more than a design exercise — it was a chance to test the full email marketing workflow, from branding and content creation to layout and technical configuration. It reflects my ability to:

  • Craft clear and engaging communication
  • Work fluently with Mailchimp and Canva
  • Simulate real-world campaign logic and list targeting
